1 1/2 lb. Ground Market Beef
2 tbsp. Smokii Joe™ Dry Rub
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 tbsp. mayonnaise
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 medium red onion
1 head of lettuce (Bib)
4 Slices of Havarti Cheese
2 tsp. butter
Slice red onions and tomatoes
Wash bib lettuce and dry with salad spinner
Slice Onion Rolls
Warm Plates on low in oven
1). Combine ground beef and Smokii Joe Dry Rub™together in large mixing bowl being sure to incorporate until blended. Divide evenly and form hamburger into balls flattening to desired size. *Tip: Leave a thumb indent to prevent swelling.
2). Grill burgers to desired temperature. If cooking burgers in a skillet, sear turning only once after meat has pulled away from the pan.
3). When finished, remove burgers and place burgers on pre-heated plate and top with cheese. Cover with tented foil to keep warm.
4). Next mix Dijon mustard, mayo & brown sugar in small bowl, mix until brown sugar dissolves.
5). Add 1 tsp. butter to pan, toast sliced onion rolls (open face down). Remove from pan.
6). Add remaining butter, and red onions to the pan. Cook on medium-high heat until onions soften and caramelize. Remove pan from heat.
7). Add 1 tbsp. of sauce to inside of each bun, top bun in this order: lettuce, hamburger & cheese, tomato & caramelized onions.
