This is the time of year we enjoy cooking our favorite comfort foods like chili. There are so many ways to enjoy chili, and we wanted to offer one more. Experience for yourself the rich depth of flavor and aromatic goodness that our coffee infused spices add to this timeless recipe. We'll leave you all the bragging rights :-)
1.5 LBS. GROUND CHUCK
1 TBSP. OIL (OLIVE OR CANOLA)
½ CUP SEASONING BLEND
14.5 OZ. CAN DICED TOMATOES WITH CHILIES
14.5 OZ. CAN MEDIUM CHILI BEANS
8 OZ. CAN TOMATO SAUCE
8 OZ. WATER
3 TBSP. SMOKII JOE DRY RUB™
2 TBSP. CHILI POWDER
1 TSP. CUMIN
1 TSP. KOSHER SALT (OMIT FOR LOWER SODIUM)
1). Preheat large skillet to medium-high heat add ½ cup *seasoning blend and cook until vegetables are tender; add beef to pan and brown until no pink remains. Drain fat.
2). Add cans of diced tomatoes and chili beans and remaining ingredients. Combine well and reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 30 minutes or until chili has reached desired consistency. Top with favorite condiments; cheese, sour cream; jalapenos’.
*Seasoning Blend is a frozen 10 oz. Publix brand. If you do not have it, use fresh onions, red and green bell peppers, and cilantro. *Use ½ cup of combined ingredients – add cilantro to taste.
